“Fusion” Free After-School Kid’s Club Starts Wednesday

At the last Fusion Kid's Club of the 2010-2011 school year, students enjoyed popsicles and fun water games.

Last October the Bethel United Methodist Church began offering a free weekly after school kid’s club for local students in grades 2 through 6. The club was called “Fusion Kid’s Club” and was formed as a way for local kids to enjoy fun crafts, get their homework done, play games and learn important lessons. Fusion Kid’s Club students helped out their community by preparing care packages, making cards for the homebound, helping at the food pantry and other community service oriented activities.

This school year the tradition continues with the first Fusion Kid’s Club of the season beginning on Wednesday, September 7. Students in grades 2-6 may take the bus to the Bethel United Methodist Church, located at 141 Greenwood Ave., where teachers will be waiting for them. Parents must call the bus company at 203-748-8091 and send in a note to let your child’s bus driver know.

This season Fusion Kid’s Club will continue with the schedule of completing homework, eating snack and participating in fun activities. They will also be reaching out to local non-profits and charities as a way to give back to their community.
